Vascular Disorders

The Nordlys Laser is an advanced, non-invasive treatment option designed to effectively target and treat vascular lesions, including leg telangiectasia and spider veins. Utilizing Selective Photothermolysis, the Nordlys device delivers precise light energy to treat vascular issues while preserving the surrounding skin.

Lesions Treated

  • Leg Telangiectasia: Visible red or blue blood vessels often caused by pressure from prolonged standing or walking.
  • Spider Veins: Small, web-like blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin, commonly found on the legs and face.

Causes of Vascular Lesions

Vascular lesions can be caused by:

  • Genetic Factors
  • Hormonal Changes
  • Physical Damage (e.g., sunburn or frostbite)
  • Prolonged Standing or Walking: Pressure from standing or walking can cause these vessels to become more visible.
  • Circulatory Problems: Sometimes these lesions are a symptom of underlying circulatory issues.

Treatment with Nordlys

The Nordlys Laser targets hemoglobin in the blood vessels, heating the vessel walls until they coagulate and are gradually reabsorbed by the body. The treatment is highly effective in reducing the appearance of both leg telangiectasia and spider veins. Depending on the size and depth of the vessels, patients may require two to four treatment sessions for optimal results.

Post-Treatment Care

  • Sun Protection: Avoid sun exposure for several weeks post-treatment, using a sunscreen with at least SPF 60.
  • Immediate Care: A cold compress or soothing gel may be applied to reduce any discomfort.
  • Recovery Time: Treatment intervals of three to four weeks are recommended, allowing the body time to heal and absorb the treated vessels.
